This article discusses how to add and/or remove SMS numbers from an SMS user. Basically, adding to or removing SMS phone numbers is editing the user.
Disable SMS User
Start by navigating to the Users page. There are 3 possibilities where you can see the Users page. Check them here: Viewing SMS Users.
On the Users table, click the … (3 dots), then Manage SMS option corresponding to the user.
If wanting to disable the SMS service for this user completely, uncheck the Enable SMS Service checkbox.

Push the changes to the Microsoft system and MS Teams user by sync’ing the relevant app.

Add or Remove Phone Numbers from SMS User
From the Enterprise Admin Menu, navigate to the Users page.

On the Users table, click the … (3 dots), then Manage SMS option corresponding to the user.

To add phone numbers to the SMS user, from the Unassigned DIDs list, highlight the numbers and click > to move numbers to the Assigned DID(s) list.
To remove phone numbers from the SMS user, from the Assigned DID(s) table, highlight the numbers and click < to move numbers to the Unassigned DID(s) list.
Push the changes to the Microsoft system and MS Teams user by sync’ing the relevant app.
