The SMS Connector App enables the Microsoft Teams client to send and receive SMS/MMS messages.
This document guides an Enterprise Admin in deploying the SMS App into an organization’s Microsoft Teams catalog.
Before You Begin
Arrange with your provider to enable the SMS service for your enterprise account.
Arrange with your provider to save the app settings in the App Management page.

Microsoft Teams Dependencies
As your organization’s Microsoft Global Admin, ensure the policies Chat and Chat with groups are enabled in the Microsoft Teams Admin Center to allow users to seamlessly open and add the SMS app.
Deploy and Sync the SMS App to Microsoft Teams
To finalize changes to SMS phone number assignment, changes to SMS groups and SMS users, the Microsoft Global Admin (or the provider if granted the proper consent) must sync the app to Microsoft network.
Navigate to Enterprise > Dashboard.
Click the Sync SMS App button that shows as action required beside the SMS app.

Once the sync is completed:
If this is the first time the app is deployed, the SMS App appears in your organization’s MS Teams app catalog.
If there are pending changes to your Teams users, the changes gets reflected in their MS Teams client. For example, if a new phone number is assigned to the user, a new team appears in MS Teams that corresponds to the phone number assigned (or the Outlook name if the phone number is stored as mobile contact).
A confirmation message displays in the Enterprise Portal’s Notifications feed.
