This article provides end users with instructions on how to use the CallApp from within the {{glossary.teams_client}}.

Before You Begin

Your organization’s Enterprise Admin must install the PBX Connector as well as the CallApp Add-On to your Teams system so that the PBX Connector and the CallApp will appear in your Teams app catalog.

Add the CallApp into your Teams client

Navigate to Teams app catalog. From the built for your org, look for the CallApp (it may be named differently if service provider customized it for your org), then click Add. Then proceed to open the app as you would with any Teams app. If you prefer, pin the app.

Dial Pad

When you launch the CallApp for the first time on a device, you will be prompted to designate that device as your "Primary Device."
After designating the device as the Primary Device, you will be presented with the dial pad for further use.

Making a Call

To initiate a call using the CallApp, simply input the desired phone number and then press the call button.
When making CallApp calls from the Teams client on a desktop, you’ll be prompted to confirm the connection, as required by Microsoft. However, when using the Teams client on a mobile device, no confirmation is needed.
When a call is initiated, the Teams Meeting Window will appear, providing an overview of the call's status. The format of the displayed number will be 88*14137072677#14133316110. In this format, "88*" serves as a prefix, "14137072677" represents the {{glossary.DID}} assigned to the user and "14133316110" indicates the destination number you are trying to reach.

Note
Please note that in CallApp calls, the call management controls for Hold and Transfer within the Teams Meeting Window may not function reliably. It is advisable to refrain from using these features for optimal performance.

Call Control Widget : Hold, Transfer, End

The Call App features a call control widget that allows users to place calls on hold, perform blind transfers and end the call. This functionality can be easily accessed from the Activity feed during any outbound or inbound call.

Hold: Puts a call on hold.

Transfer: Transfers a call. Enter in the box the PSTN number to transfer the call to. If left empty, the transfer will fail.

End: Terminates the call.
