Connect2Teams is a business calling app for organizations using the ACS Call App. It brings the ACS Call App Teams calling capability to your iPhone or Android device, so you can make and receive work calls anywhere, over Wi-Fi or mobile data, with your Teams number as the caller ID.
With the Connect2Teams app, you can make and receive calls, send and receive text and picture messages (SMS/MMS) if your ConnecttoTeams account has this capability, and manage your Outlook contacts from your mobile device.
The app has five tabs at the bottom of the screen:
Dialer – place calls and view your assigned work number.
Contacts – search, view, and manage your contacts.
History – review your incoming, outgoing, and missed calls.
SMS – send and receive text messages and picture messages.
Settings – manage presence-based call pausing, send feature codes, and view your account.
Before you begin
Your organization's Enterprise Admin must configure your account as a CallApp user before you can sign in. This is the same setup used for the Call App in Microsoft Teams on desktop and in the browser, so no additional setup is needed for mobile.
Device requirements
iPhone: iPhone 12 or later, running iOS 16.0 or later.
Android: Android 8.0 or later.
Getting the app
iOS
On your iPhone or iPad, open the Connect2Teams App Store listing, or open the App Store and search for Connect2Teams.
Tap Get, then authenticate with your Apple ID if prompted.
When the installation finishes, tap Open.
Scan with camera
Android
On your Android device, open the Connect2Teams Google Play listing, or open the Google Play Store and search for Connect2Teams.
Tap Install, then confirm with your Google account or device authentication if prompted.
When the installation finishes, tap Open.
Scan with Android camera
Signing in
Open the Connect2Teams app.
When prompted, allow the app to use your microphone and to send notifications. The app needs microphone access to place calls and notification access to alert you to incoming calls.
Sign in with your Microsoft 365 work account, using the same credentials you use for Microsoft Teams.
Complete multi-factor authentication if your organization requires it.
If prompted, enable the Connect2Teams calling account in your device settings. This lets your work calls appear in the Recents list of your phone's built-in Phone app.
After you sign in, the app opens on the Dialer tab and is ready to make and receive calls.

Use Connect2Teams for calling on your phone
On your phone, use the Connect2Teams app to make and receive work calls. Calling from the Unified Connector App inside Microsoft Teams Mobile is not supported, because Teams Mobile cannot open the dialer pop-out window that the app uses. If you open the Unified Connector App in Teams Mobile, you will see a prompt to install the Connect2Teams app.
Things to know
Connect2Teams works with your mobile phone's built-in calling features:
Incoming calls display a full-screen ring screen, even when your device is locked.
Your work calls appear in the Recents list of your phone's Phone app, alongside your cellular calls.
Microsoft Teams on desktop and on the web continues to work as before. You can use the Unified App Connector in Teams and the Connect2Teams mobile app with the same account.
Do Not Disturb and Focus: Incoming calls may be silenced if Connect2Teams is not included in your allowed calls and apps. On iOS, check your Focus settings under Calls and under app notifications. On Android, go to Settings > Notifications > Do Not Disturb > App exceptions.
Making a call
Tap the Dialer tab.
Enter the phone number on the keypad.
Tap the green call button to place the call.
You can also call a contact from the Contacts tab, or call back a number from the History tab. If a contact has more than one phone number, choose the number you want to call.

Receiving a call
When someone calls your work number, an incoming call alert displays the caller's number. If your device is locked, a full-screen ring screen appears.
Tap Accept to answer the call.
Tap Decline to reject the call.
If Turn off Incoming Calls is turned on in the Dialer tab, inbound calls do not ring in the app until you turn it off. For details, see Turning off incoming calls.

Turning off incoming calls
You may prefer to stop receiving call alerts in Microsoft Teams (desktop or web) and in the Connect2Teams app, and answer calls only on your desk phone. To do so:
Tap the Dialer tab.
Turn on the Turn off Incoming Calls toggle.
To start receiving calls in the app again, turn the toggle off.
If you do not see the toggle, your organization has not enabled this option, and incoming call alerts stay on.

The Contacts tab shows your personal Outlook contacts and your organization's directory contacts. On Android, organization contacts have a grey background to distinguish them from personal contacts.
Tap the Contacts tab.
Use the search bar to find a contact by name or number.
Tap a contact to view their details, then tap the call button next to a number to call it.

Adding and editing contacts
You can add and edit your personal Outlook contacts. Organization contacts are read-only.
To add a contact, tap the + button, enter the contact's details, and tap Save.
To edit a personal contact, open it and tap Edit Contact. Update the name, company, job title, or phone numbers. Tap Add phone number to add a number, or tap the remove button next to a number to delete it. Tap Save.
New and updated contacts can take up to about 15 minutes to appear in the app.

Sending text messages (SMS)
The SMS tab lets you send and receive text messages and picture messages using your organization's phone numbers, separately from your personal messaging apps. Conversations with unread messages appear in bold.
Tap the SMS tab to see your recent conversations.
If you have more than one assigned number, such as personal or group lines, tap the Message as drop-down and choose the number to send from and receive replies on.
Tap New to start a conversation.
In Enter Recipients, type a name or number. Matching contacts appear as you type; tap one to add it. You can add up to 10 recipients.
If you add more than one recipient, choose a send option:
Broadcast SMS – each recipient receives the message privately and replies only to you. Use this for announcements, alerts, and individual follow-ups.
Group SMS – all recipients share one conversation and see each other's replies. Use this for small-group discussions. This option appears only if your number supports group texting.
Type your message and tap the send button. To send a photo, tap the attachment (paperclip) icon, then take a photo or choose one from your library.
Messages and photos you receive appear in the conversation, with the sender's name or number and a timestamp.

Linking a number to a contact

In an open conversation, tap the contact icon in the top-right corner.
Choose an option:
Add New Contact – create a new Outlook contact with the number already filled in. Complete the details and tap Save.
Update Existing Contact – search for a contact by name, then tap the matching result to add the number to that contact.

Settings
Tap the Settings tab to manage the following options.
Figure: Settings tab — Presence (Teams-presence-based call pausing) and Feature Codes
Presence
If your organization has enabled it, you can turn on Pause Inbound Calling based on Teams Presence. When this is on, inbound calls are paused automatically whenever your Microsoft Teams presence matches one of the selected trigger states, such as Busy, Do Not Disturb, In A Meeting, or In A Call.
Interval (minutes) – how often the app checks your Teams presence.
Trigger states – the presence states that pause inbound calls.
On Android, these presence settings are inherited from your organization's PBX defaults.
For more information, see the Pause Inbound Calling User Guide.
Feature codes
Under Feature Codes, search for a code (enter at least three characters) or use the shortcuts shown. Tap Send next to a code to send it. For example, send *78 to enable Do Not Disturb or *79 to disable it. The codes available to you depend on the feature codes your Enterprise Admin has enabled.
Account and sign out
Tap the three-dot menu in the top-right corner to view the app version and your signed-in account, or to sign out.

Troubleshooting
Not receiving call or message alerts: Check that notifications are allowed for Connect2Teams. On iOS, confirm Focus or Do Not Disturb is not silencing the app. On Android, confirm Do Not Disturb and battery optimization settings are not restricting the app. Also check that Turn off Incoming Calls is off.
Unable to sign in: Confirm with your Enterprise Admin that your account is configured as a CallApp user.
No audio during calls: Confirm microphone access is allowed for Connect2Teams and that no other app is using the microphone.
Text message fails to send: Confirm you selected the correct number under Message as and that the message has 10 or fewer recipients.
If you still need help, contact your organization's IT administrator.
