This article introduces the ConnecttoTeams Standard Enterprise Portal.
This article is for you if your Enterprise uses, at a minimum, the calling services.
If your enterprise uses messaging services only, i.e., no calling, see the introduction of Enterprise Messaging Portal here.
Before You Begin
The Enterprise Admin should ensure that:
All your members (Teams Users) planning to use Teams for calling must have the necessary Microsoft licenses assigned.
If you are using a calling service, you will need one extra unassigned User and Phone System, or comparable, add-on license available. Microsoft sometimes takes up to 48 hours to update their systems to reflect new license assignment, so doing this in advance can streamline the installation process.
The steps are demo-ed in this video: These instructions are also available in video form here. Once you see it being presented the instructions below will feel more intuitive.
Register Your Enterprise
Once your provider has initiated creating your enterprise account in ConnecttoTeams, you will receive an Invitation email which will be sent to the email address of the person with Microsoft Enterprise Global Admin credentials.
The Global Administrator completes signup by selecting Complete button in the email and then logging in with Microsoft Enterprise Global Administrator credentials.
Use a compatible browser to register your enterprise.
Once you have clicked the Complete button, you will be authenticated with Microsoft OAUTH login. You need to login and grant permissions using the credentials of the Microsoft Enterprise Global Admin.
You will be prompted to list Microsoft User Groups to sync. Members of these groups will appear in the Enterprise Portal and can be configured to use ConnecttoTeams apps. To restrict access to specific groups, list them here; leave the field empty to grant access to all users. Limiting groups can help manage user numbers and align with restrictive access policies.
This group list can be updated later if needed. More information about the sync user groups can be found here.
After permissions are granted you will end up on the Enterprise Dashboard.
Initial Login to ConnecttoTeams Portal
Your next step will depend on your access type: Full Access or Restricted Access. Please follow the instructions in the section that corresponds to your access type.
A. For Enterprise with Full Access
This section is for enterprises that are fully responsible for configuring and managing their services.
1. Upon initial login to the Enterprise Portal, you will be redirected to the User Group Sync page. Here, the Enterprise Administrator must perform a “User/Group Sync” to populate the intended user groups. See User Groups Sync for complete instructions and expected time the user sync process is expected to complete.
2. Add Enterprise Admins: After completing the user sync, the next step is to learn more about adding other admins to your account, managing your end users, and configuring services such as, but not limited to, PBX, Trunk and SMS.
B. For Enterprise with Restricted Access
This is for the Enterprise which is assisted by provider whereby majority of the configuration and management of services is done by provider on behalf of the Enterprise Administrator .
1. Initial Login: On your first login to the Enterprise Portal, click the "Grant Consent" buttons shown on your dashboard.
After granting consent, the provider will be able to perform the tasks enumerated below without additional interaction from the Enterprise Admin.
2. Teams Application Deployment: When the provider deploys the Teams application relative to your availed service, complete the process by clicking the applicable button ("Sync SMS App" or "Verify Chat App") for the service.
Next Steps
Get oriented with the Enterprise Admin Menu here.
