Using the Unified Connector App

Introduced in June 2025, the Unified Connector App contains all services (eg. SMS, PBX, Chat and CallApp) that are configured for a given user.  It can be deployed in place of any of the stand-alone apps.

This article offers Microsoft Teams users an overview of the services available through the Unified Connector App, along with links to detailed guides for each supported service.

Before You Begin

  • App Deployment to Your Teams Organization

    Your enterprise administrator must have deployed the app to your organization’s Teams app catalog.

  • App Installation on Your Microsoft Teams Client

    You must have added the Unified Connector App to your Teams client.

The Unified Connector App house all the services that are configured for a given user.

Using the PBX Service?

Using the CallApp AddOn?

Refer to the article Using the CallApp App for detailed instructions. Skip the section ‘Add the CallApp into your Teams client’ — it’s not needed in this case.

Using the SMS Service?

Note that unlike the SMS Connector which replicates the SMS messages in Teams and Channels, the Unified Connector App replicates the SMS messages in Teams chat.

The SMS/MMS messages are presented just like a regular chat. The chat name follows the format source(destination).

Search for the chat thread tied to your SMS number or associated Outlook contact’s name. Send your message and view incoming texts just like a normal chat. Send MMS just like a normal chat with file attachment.
