This article discusses how to configure (add or update) Trunk Users in bulk via file upload.
Steps to Bulk Upload Trunk Users
As an Enterprise Admin, either a Global Admin or non-Global Admin, you have the ability to bulk upload Trunk users into ConnecttoTeams system. Currently, the system is capped at 50 Users in a single batch. Please divide up larger files into groups of 50.
Once logged in to the Enterprise Portal’s Enterprise Admin Menu, click on the the Bulk Upload menu item.
The Bulk Upload Users page displays.Fill out the following fields:
* User Type: Choose
Trunk
.* Voice Route: Choose the voice route (gateway) for the imported users.
* Trunk Profile: Choose the configured trunk created for the enterprise where the imported users will be assigned.
* Check Default Dial Plan Policy if assigning it to the imported users
* Should an imported trunk user already exist in the system, check Update Existing Users if wishing to update the existing trunk user with values from the imported file. If not wanting to update the existing trunk users, leave this unchecked.
Download the sample file format.
Once you choose User Type =Trunk
, you may download the file template.Open the sample file and prepare your CSV file for upload.
teams_user_id : The Microsoft Office 365 email address of the user.
default_did_index_number (specify the index location from the did list) : The order number of the intended Default DID as seen in the next column did_list. The index number starts with 0.Examples:
* If there are 3 phone numbers in the did_list, provide value 1 if choosing the second number as the Default DID. The other 2 numbers will be considered as Forwarded DIDs.
* If there is only 1 number in the did_list, then provide 0 value in this field as the single DID is to become the Default DID and there will be no Forwarded DIDs.
did_list : Could be a single phone number or comma-separated list of DIDs (such as12125551234,12125551235,12125551236
) which is used as Default DID or Forwarded DIDs. See description of above-mentioned field default_did_index_number to know how to indicate which is the Default DID.
caller_name : The caller’s display name for a SIP call. (This is not to be confused with the CNAM service for PSTN calls which is a telco provider’s service.)
caller_name_on_forwarded_calls
caller_id : The caller’s phone number.
caller_id_on_forwarded_calls : The caller id to use on forwarded calls.

pai_on_forwarded_calls : The PAI to use on forwarded calls.Select Upload when you have successfully uploaded your desired Bulk Upload CSV file.
You will see a screen with the users extracted from the CSV file. click "Validate" in the upper right-hand corner. This will analyze the file and ensure there are no obvious data entry failures. Hovering over the error will give guidance about what specific error is preventing configuration.
If there are no detectable errors the blue "Validate" button will change to say "Submit" to kick off the upload process.
The trunk users will appear on the Enterprise Dashboard.Sync the teams users.
If changes to user/s were made by a Service Provider without Service Provider management consent, the Enterprise Admin must log into the Enterprise Portal and click on Sync Teams Users.
If changes user/s were made by the Enterprise Admin or a Service Provider with management consent, the system automatically syncs the changes. No further action is required.
Check Sync Status
The user provisioning status will be reflected in the Enterprise Dashboard. Click here for more info about User Provisioning Status Indicators.
Expect:
- That the first time sync will take up to 24 hours. Come back to check the status.
- That succeeding syncs will take up to 4 hours. Come back to check the status.
If sync is not completing within these wait times, contact your Service Provider.
The Admin will receive an email when the users have successfully been uploaded.
Important Note
If you have multiple voice routes and/or trunk profiles, import another file containing the intended users.
