Operator Connect Express

Prev Next

As of release version 2.15 it is possible to configure SIP Trunks to route calls to Microsoft Phone system using Operator Connect, as an alternative to Direct Routing.

The purpose of Operator Connect Express, accomplished through a partnership with SIPPIO, is to allow ConnecttoTeams resellers and partners to provision PSTN connectivity to organizations that request Operator Connect. The primary benefit, as compared to telephony integration with Direct Routing, is that Operator Connect does not require any permissions from the organization's Microsoft Administrator. This integration does not provide a tile in the Teams Operator Connect portal.

Enable Operator Connect for Reseller

When adding or editing a Reseller, do the following:

  1. Assign the Trunk Service to the Reseller. Note that the Operator Connect option is only displayed if the Trunk Service is assigned.

  2. Enable the Operator Connect capability by selecting the checkbox.

  3. Submit the form.

Enable Operator Connect for Enterprise

When adding or editing an Enterprise, do the following:

  1. Assign the Trunk Service to the Enterprise. Note that the Operator Connect option is only displayed if the Trunk Service is assigned.

  2. Enable the Operator Connect capability by selecting the checkbox.

  3. Enter the tenant domain of the Microsoft Enterprise

  4. Submit the form.

Important

  • Although the Enterprise Admin Email ID is required by the form, there is no action required by the enterprise Global Administrator for Operator Connect.  Therefore, any email address can be used and the registration email can be ignored.  If the enterprise will be using other Connectors, then the Enterprise registration by email is required.

  • The SBC Region is required by the form, but not needed for Operator Connect.  Therefore, any region may be chosen.

Upload DIDs

Follow the instructions for uploading DIDs here being sure to specify "Operator Connect" as the voice route Type in the appropriate column of the csv file.
