This article guides Enterprise Admins on managing connections between their Teams organization and Slack Workspaces using the ConnecttoTeams Unified Connector App. It is intended for scenarios where both the Teams organization and the Slack Workspace are owned by the same company, and the Enterprise Admin also has administrative access to the Slack Workspace. In other words, this article covers intra-company connections between Teams and Slack users.
Connecting with a Slack Workspace : An Overview
There are two methods to initiate connection between Microsoft Teams organization and a Slack Workspace:
1. Initiated by Enterprise Admin: This method is useful when the Enterprise Admin in ConnecttoTeams Portal is also the administrator of the target Slack workspace. This situation commonly arises when different departments within the same organization use different communication platforms—for example, sales and marketing teams may use Microsoft Teams, while technical teams rely on Slack.
This method is the subject of the following section.
2. Initiated by Teams User: This method is useful when a Microsoft Teams user (not an Enterprise Admin) initiates chatting with an external user using Slack. This method is detailed in this article: Using the Chat Connector in MS Teams.
Before You Begin
Prepare your Slack Workspace for automated channel creation. To do this, follow the instruction in Slack Admin Guide for Preparing the Slack Workspace.
Deploying the App to Slack Workspace
This section shows the steps on how an Enterprise Admin can initiate a connection with a Slack workspace. This process deploys an app, called TeamsLink, into a Slack workspace.

Click the Deploy App button.

You will be redirected to a page asking permission to connect with a Slack workspace. In the Slack permission page, select the Slack workspace that will integrate with your Microsoft Teams tenant for cross-platform communication.

Click the Install TeamsLink button.
Once permission is granted and the app is successful deployed, you will be redirected back to your Dashboard in the portal and shown success messages.

The Slack workspace will be listed in the table with a “Connected” status.

The TeamsLink app is deployed in your Slack workspace will show up in the App list.
At this point, the users in your MS Teams organization and the users in your Slack workspace will be able to connect with each other. Each user are encouraged to check this guide: Using the Chat Connector in MS Teams.
Disconnecting from the Slack Workspace
Use the steps below to disconnect a Slack Workspace from your Teams organization. This action is typically performed when the connection is no longer needed or when the Slack Workspace has already removed the TeamsLink app.
In the ConnecttoTeams Enterprise or Messaging Portal, navigate to the Chat > Slack Workspace page.
In the workspace table, locate the Slack Workspace you want to disconnect.
Ensure the workspace status is InActive — this indicates the TeamsLink app has already been removed from the Slack Workspace.
Click the Actions (⋯) menu next to the workspace entry, then select Delete Workspace.
