# Routing Numbers to External SIP Trunk

## **Routing DIDs to External SIP Trunk**

As of release version 2.15 it is possible to configure SIP Trunks to route inbound DID calls to an external SIP Trunk. In this scenario, the call will not be associated with Teams in any way.

## **Enable External Trunks for Reseller**

When adding or editing a Reseller, do the following:

1. Assign the Trunk Service to the Reseller. Note that the External Trunks option is only displayed if the Trunk Service is assigned.
2. Enable the External Trunks capability by selecting the checkbox.
3. Submit the form.

When adding or editing an Enterprise, do the following:

Note: Although the Enterprise Admin Email ID is required by the form, there is no action required by the enterprise Global Administrator for Operator Connect. Therefore, any email address can be used. Similarly, the SBC Region is required by the form, but not needed for Operator Connect. Therefore, any region may be chosen.

## **Upload DIDs**

Follow the instructions for uploading DIDs here being sure to specify "External Trunk" as the voice route Type in the appropriate column of the csv file.

Phone number

A voice route, also called gateway, refers to the configuration settings that determine how incoming and outgoing phone calls made through Microsoft Teams are directed to the appropriate phone number on the PSTN, essentially defining the path a call takes based on the dialed number. This is represented as a "online voice routing policy" within the Microsoft Teams Admin Center.
