# Deploy and Sync the SMS Connector App to a Microsoft Teams Organization

This document guides an Enterprise Admin in deploying the legacy SMS Connector App into an organization’s Microsoft Teams catalog.

> [!NOTE]
> **Skip this article if…**
>
> Your enterprise uses the **Unified Connector App** for **SMS only** or **in combination** with other services. Instead, refer to [Deploy and Sync the Unified Connector App](/v1/docs/deploy-and-sync-the-unified-connector-app).

## Before You Begin

- Arrange with your provider to enable the SMS service for your enterprise account.
- Arrange with your provider to save the app settings in the App Management page.
- Enable the policies required for SMS messaging in Teams. See [Messaging Policies for SMS and Chat Apps](/v1/docs/messaging-policies-for-sms-and-chat-apps).

> [!NOTE]
> Note to the Reseller:
>
> To enable SMS for enterprise, see [Enable SMS Service for an Enterprise](/v1/docs/enabling-sms-service-for-an-enterprise)
>
> To configure SMS app template, see [Manage SMS App Template](/v1/docs/managing-sms-app-template)
>
> To customize and deploy the SMS app for the enterprise, see [Customize and Deploy SMS App for an Enterprise](/v1/docs/prep-sms-app-instance-for-an-enterprise).
>
> To assign SMS Carrier Profile to the enterprise, see [SMS Carrier Configuration as a Reseller Admin](/v1/docs/sms-carrier-configuration-as-a-reseller-admin-2).

## Deploy and Sync the SMS App to Microsoft Teams

To finalize changes to SMS phone number assignment, changes to SMS groups and SMS users, the Microsoft Global Admin (or the provider if granted the proper consent) must sync the app to Microsoft network.

1. Navigate to **Enterprise > Dashboard**. ![](https://cdn.us.document360.io/312e5ae5-e3c1-465d-8e37-f253a7ba8eee/Images/Documentation/image(819).png)
2. Click the **Sync SMS App** button that shows as action required beside the SMS app.

**Result:**

Once the sync is completed:

- If this is the first time the app is deployed, the SMS App appears in your organization’s MS Teams app catalog.

- If there are pending changes to your Teams users, the changes gets reflected in their MS Teams client. For example, if a new phone number is assigned to the user, a new team appears in MS Teams that corresponds to the phone number assigned (or the Outlook name if the phone number is stored as mobile contact).

| This is used to define a profile name associated with the carrier. It allows carriers to use different profile names associated with multiple API credentials to be used for the same carrier type. Carrier configurations created before the portal 2.15.0 version has Profile Names that include the carrier's name followed by **_DEFAULT**. For example, **Twilio****_DEFAULT**. |
